Fall hours

The Family Ministries Center changes to fall hours Sept. 8. Fall hours are:

  • Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sculpt and Lean

This new exercise class will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the gym beginning Sept. 7. Price is $10 per session. Child care is available. This is a challenging circuit training class which develops full-body strength, endurance, flexibility and coordination. It is great for sports training. Classes include a variety of high-intensity cardiovascular work and resistance machine exercise, free weights and core conditioning. All fitness levels are welcome to attend.

Volunteers needed

There are still a few spots open for volunteers in the Recreation Ministry. We need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer the phone, hand out towels and equipment and help with mailings. You can volunteer as little as once a month.

Softball

Register for fall softball by Aug. 30. Games will be played on Tuesdays at Lindsey Park beginning Sept. 13. Contact Amy Elliott to register or for information.

Senior Sneakers

Senior Sneakers meets at 9 a.m. every Monday in the gym, and the price is $5 per session. We provide child care by reservation. Senior Sneakers is a fun and exciting workout designed for our older adults focusing on building strength, flexibility, eye-hand coordination, eye-foot coordination, and cardiovascular health and endurance, so you can perform your daily tasks and activities better. The hour-long class is an aerobics class with exercises using resistance bands, hand weights and balls. Everyone has a chair available for stretching, chair squats and rest. Seniors of all fitness levels are welcome. We can modify the exercises so everyone gets a workout and has a great time. Marvin Senior Sneakers is also a fun way to make friends and worship through exercise.

Zumba class

Zumba classes meet at 5:30 p.m. every Monday in the gym. Price is $10 per session. Child care is provided by request ahead of time. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program. Emily Mariani will lead the class. She has more than five years of experience teaching classes including yoga, yogalates, Pilates mat, Pilates equipment, spin, high intensity circuit training, silver sneakers senior fitness and Zumba.

Pick-up basketball

Come join the pick-up basketball games at noon Monday-Thursday in the gym. There is always a game going on.

Volleyball

A group meets at noon on Fridays to play volleyball in the gym. This is for all ages—if you like to play, come join the fun.
